I'm glad you found your way here. Finding the right therapist isn't easy. It's even harder to do so while struggling with depression, anxiety, stressful relationships, trauma, and an overflowing workload. There is so much going on you don’t even know where to begin. You need help, direction, and a place to be heard. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Antioch University, which has equipped me to support you through these challenges. If you're looking for someone who can help you make sense of the struggle, I’m here to hold that space. I hope to be a co-investigator with you. I view therapy as a creative, interactive, and intensive process.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You can expect a warm, funny, and direct person to be with you in our sessions together. My personal experience as a mother drew me to perinatal mental health, which is my clinical area of expertise. I specialize in reproductive mental health and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADS). I know first-hand how motherhood is a time of transition and transformation that requires professional support. I bring experience and expertise in birth trauma, NICU experiences, postpartum anxiety and depression, postpartum rage, intrusive thoughts, and grief and loss. "It takes a village" is cliched, but true. I'm honored to work with new, expecting, seasoned, adoptive, and foster moms to be part of their village of support. Counseling survivors of domestic violence is a secondary focus area of mine. For years, I've volunteered at a domestic violence organization and counseled survivors of domestic violence in clinical settings. Trauma underpins my areas of clinical expertise. I am trauma-informed and trained in a processing modality called lifespan integration.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The beginning of therapy is a little bit like entering a dark room. It takes a while to find the light switch. Once the light is on, we can start opening doors and windows. A prior client once described therapy as, “all the lights turning on.” My role as a therapist is to help you gain further clarity and understanding. I am an attachment-based, relational therapist so I bring myself into sessions. Also, important to note about my clinical style is that it is integrative, and I pull from the following theories: attachment, polyvagal, somatic, and behavioral. I tailor what I can provide in therapy based on your specific needs. I can strategize with you once we’ve established a working relationship. I draw from a mix of behavioral strategies as well as somatic ones to provide relief. Longer-term solutions often involve a mix of trauma processing, medication (sometimes), and an agency for change.
