What should a new client know about working with you?

My style of therapy is warm, friendly, direct with a sense of humor and yes I do say the F word now and then; and create a safe environment for me clients to express and be themselves. After the intake session, we work collaboratively to create client's goals for therapy. I believe it is important for the rapport and therapeutic alliance to know what the clients would like from their time in session. I use person-centered approach, where I am a guide for the client explore their thoughts & feelings to develop a deeper sense of self and self-awareness. As a trauma informed therapist, I use EMDR and Somatic practices and techniques to help clients learn how to regulate their emotions by learning how to reduce, anxiety, panic, overwhelm, rumination, depression and burnout. We practice within the session so the client may take what they learned/experienced in daily life. Benefits of EMDR: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy offers rapid, effective relief for trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and depression by reprocessing distressing memories without requiring detailed verbal accounts. It strengthens positive beliefs, improves emotional regulation, and often works faster than traditional therapies, with many experiencing significant improvement in just a few sessions. Healing & Recovery from Narcissistic Abuse Recovery: Recovering from narcissistic abuse is less about "getting back to normal" and more about discovering a stronger, more authentic version of yourself. While the process is often challenging, the benefits include profound psychological and physical shifts that can improve every aspect of your life. Benefits of Narcissistic Abuse Recovery: Rebuilding Self-Esteem, Radical Self-Trust, Clarity and Pattern Recognition, Healthy Boundary Setting, Authentic Connections, Nervous System Regulation, Reclaimed Autonomy, Emotional Stability, & learning how to Breaking the Cycle.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first session is an intake process by which I ask clients about current problems or challenges; reasons for seeking therapy now; as well as gathering past history related to family, medical, medications, education, career, and prior therapy experience. Every session from then on, is a collaborative effort between therapist and client. It is important the client comes to therapy sessions prepared to share and discuss whatever is needed for the client to explore, knowing that each session unfolds by the client's autonomy, with gentle guidance and direction from the therapist. Some sessions will be more focused and specific; while other times a client may feel there may seem to be nothing intentional to bring to session, however, attending each session with an open mind and heart is critical to the process. The therapist creates a safe space to allow for the client to be heard and seen, and to express without fear of judgement. Since I use an eclectic approach to therapy, each session could unfold uniquely: talk therapy, expressive arts, or somatic techniques are implemented. All with the consent and interest of the client.

Gail has helped me through some trials and turbulences. She is professional, honest, caring, and share my same value system. She is easy to talk to, has always been patient, and someone I have come to trust. Her methods are both methodological and inspirational through her appreciation of arts and knowledge. I would highly recommend Gail for anyone who needs a sound and competent life advisor.
I think there is more than one way to look at every situation. During my last visit we had some disagreement. With that said, it helped to show an unexpected perspective. It helped me to see things differently. It was productive, and made me want to make some changes.
I had a great time working with Gail. We had in-depth conversations every week working on identifying strengths, areas to spend attention on, and overall creating a healthy balance between what we can change and things to make peace with.
Gail was a great psychotherapist. I've worked with her for 3 years. In that time, Gail has demonstrated her expertise by teaching me sustainable cognitive tools and healing techniques that helped me overcome many obstacles, especially in my dark periods. She is creative and compassionate. I highly suggest working with her.
Gail is a wonderful therapist!! I first began working with her right after my mom passed away and she helped me work my way through the grief and all the emotions that came up during that very difficult time. Each session is geared toward my specific needs, so a space is created that safe and very personal. Gail has made a huge positive impact on my life and I give her the highest recommendation!!
