Getting to know Gail Newman

I graduated from the University at Albany Mental Health Counseling Program in 2020. My internship was completed at Pros RSS where I honed my expertise in trauma treatment, embedded within a generalist psychotherapy background. While I specialize in helping people who have experienced traumatic circumstances and/or serious mental health issues, I am a generalist practitioner who is able to meet the needs of a wide variety of problems people may seek counseling for.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I offer flexible scheduling outside of standard business hours on Mondays. In our work together, you can expect to gain insight, be supported in a non-judgmental, caring environment. We will work together to identify your unique goals as well as your obstacles to creating meaningful change while using innovative and practical strategies for forward movement with the goal of leading a happier, healthier, and more productive life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I provide evidence-based therapy that is person-centered. This means that I use my clinical expertise to actively treat the concerns that are bringing you into therapy in ways that are tailored specifically to you. When meeting with me, you can expect to be treated with warmth as a whole person who has individualized identities, values, and strengths.
