Getting to know Garika Williams
Hey! My name is Garika, and I'm a licensed professional therapist based in Virginia. I earned my Bachelor's degree from Mary Baldwin University and my Master's in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. I spent the first seven years post-grad working in a residential facility with adolescents and am now approaching my second year providing care through telehealth therapy to people from many walks of life. Over the years, I have worked with various diagnoses, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, severe trauma, PTSD, dual diagnosis, and personality disorders, along with areas like family issues and grief/loss.
When not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife, son, two step-sons, and our dog. I also love traveling, gardening, and trying new things.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Feeling heard, validated, and respected as the first session is the start of building rapport and to begin to understand my client' up to the this point in life. I always like to follow up with resources pertaining to coping skills along with the goals/need areas established. I am also open to those that have previous experience with therapy and thrive with assignments/readings in-between sessions.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
