Garland Willis, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
Hi there, I'm Garland! I am Garland Willis, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master's in Counseling from Texas A&M University. I began counseling after retiring as a school principal in 2017. I enjoy working with individuals, families, and couples and feel comfortable with both adults and juveniles. My approach As a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, I believe that our perception of an event is more important than the event itself. Our perception guides our behavior, and that behavior creates the interactions we have with other people. By changing the perception of events, a person can truly change his or her life. My focus I work with both juvenile and adult clients of all ethnicities and any socioeconomic status. I have extensive experience with individual, family, and couples counseling. My communication style My style can best be described as casual and conversational. I want the clients who work with me to be as relaxed and comfortable as possible. My journey to therapy I enjoy helping people reach their goals and achieve the quality of life that they want. Everyone deserves what they are willing to work for. My goals for you I listen to the client's wants and needs. The client will explain where he or she is and where they want to be. My job is to help the client make the changes necessary to get the quality of life they desire. My first session with you In the first session, we get to know each other, and I will answer any questions that the client has. It is imperative that I begin to earn the trust that is necessary to make therapy a success.
