Hey there — I’m Garrett, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Let’s be real: life can get messy. Sometimes it feels overwhelming, heavy, or just plain confusing. If you’ve ever felt like you’re barely keeping it together, you’re not alone — and you don’t have to go through it alone either. I’m here to walk alongside you on your journey. My goal is to help you build the tools and confidence to navigate life’s challenges and discover the strongest, most authentic version of yourself. Because the truth is, we’re all stronger than we think — sometimes we just need a little help seeing it. Over the years, I’ve worked with individuals facing depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and a wide range of mental health challenges. I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches, including: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Mind and Body Bridging Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) These tools aren’t just theories — they’re practical, real-life strategies that we’ll use together to help you grow, heal, and move forward. I take a down-to-earth, honest approach in our work, and I’ll challenge you to apply what we talk about in meaningful ways. I also believe in the power of humor. Life is serious enough — sometimes a good laugh is exactly what we need to keep going. Laughter connects us, grounds us, and reminds us that even in the hard moments, joy is still possible. Life can be tough, but it can also be beautiful. I’m committed to helping you find that beauty, even in the struggle, and to making your well-being a priority every step of the way. When I am not doing therapy, you can find me spending time with my family, watching sports, and looking perplexed while I watch my favorite teams. I love to listen to music, watch movies, and learn how to do new things.

What should a new client know about working with you?

A quote I love says, “When fun gets deep enough, it can heal the world.” That idea has had a profound impact on me. Life often brings challenges that are hard to navigate, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy invites us to lean into—rather than avoid—those experiences. In other words, how can we still find fun, even in difficulty? I’ve struggled with this myself, asking, “Why can’t I let this go?” or “Why do I get so caught up in this?” Often, it’s because I resist change instead of leaning into what needs my attention. But when we can approach life with curiosity, playfulness, and even laughter, our experience transforms. That’s the approach I bring to therapy: helping others rediscover joy and use it as a path toward healing. As Henri de Mondeville said, “Laughter is the best medicine.”

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Building a strong therapeutic relationship is essential. I want to take the time to get to know you, understand your goals for therapy, and identify the areas you’d like to focus on. We must share a clear understanding of your needs and how I can best support you. I also want you to feel comfortable—honesty and trust are vital for meaningful growth and lasting change. I aim to make the process smooth and easy, while giving the gentle nudges that allow you to get out of your own comfort zone and apply what you learn. That is how we get better, we grow in stress and try out new ways to solve our struggles.
