What should a new client know about working with you?

Gary's niche and passion is working with couple's aimed aat repairing or strengthening their union. His training as a Certified Gottman Therapist allows him to expertly assess the issues and craft personal treatment plans along the since of what makes marriages work, aka The Sound Relationship House. For individual services, Gary uses evidence-based techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), two therapy modalities that encourage clients to understand the influence of their thoughts and feelings on their behaviors. Gary’s ultimate goal is to help clients free themselves from the unhelpful behaviors and cognitive distortions that are unhelpful to their achievement of their ultimate goals. As a Certified Yoga Instructor, he also incorporates elements of mindfulness and yoga into his sessions. Gary is dedicated to finding a treatment plan that works for each client. To this end, initial sessions with Gary include a diagnostic evaluation, an orientation to his therapeutic approaches, treatment planning, and then the start of therapeutic work by session three.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I believe social connection is one of the most important aspects of life that can lead to happiness, satisfaction, and joy. I promise that I will always be able to engage you in a heartfelt manner that honors the trust and connection you are trying to build with others and myself. My training with Gottman Institute has lead me to complete the level three training and plans to become a fully certified Gottman Therapist. This approach is evidence based to assist you in building relationships that a deep and fulfilling. I look forward to sharing this perspective and approaches with you!
