Getting to know Gay Moffit
I have worked in the fields of addiction and mental health, and those individuals who have more then one behavioral health problem, for over 40 years. I have worked in corrections, community behavioral health and have my own private practice. I believe that it is important that I work with the individual as a team. After I meet with a person they will have a clear picture of what to expect from me as a therapist. We will talk about goals for counseling and how those goals can be meet. Life is hard and sometimes we need help navigating through it. A lot of us are experiencing distress in our lives and often use coping skills or behaviors that only add to the distress that they are experiencing. It does not matter when / where it started it matters that it is distressing, and we need to manage the distress first. If the place that it began needs to be addressed we can do that too.
