Psychotherapist

Congratulations on taking this step towards your personal wellness! I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) based in Kentucky and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I received my Master's degree from Walden University of Minnesota and my undergraduate degree from Murray State University in Kentucky. I help adults struggling with anxiety, personality and mood disorders, depression, and various women’s issues to become the best versions of themselves. I utilize an eclectic approach of theories that are customized to an individual client's needs. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) includes techniques such as mindfulness, understanding how our thoughts impact our emotions, as well as identifying negative thought distortions, then challenging and reframing them with Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) focuses on the present moment, accepting thoughts and feelings without judgment, and moving forward with that acceptance. Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) helps clients identify self-defeating thoughts and feelings, challenges the nature of irrational and unproductive feelings, and replaces them with healthier, more productive beliefs. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) emphasizes personal choice, acceptance of the self and one’s situation, being worthy of love and positive relationships, and explores emotional response versus reaction. Positive Psychology emphasizes strengths and virtues that enable clients to thrive. I enjoy working with adults in various age groups. My clients are eager to improve but might not have the insight, support, or tools needed to make their goals a reality. They may feel stuck, isolated, overwhelmed, and anxious about if they can, and if so, how they can move forward.
