Hi there, I'm Genesis! My name is Genesis Gomez Tello, and I am a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California and my Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley. Born and raised in Downtown Los Angeles, my passion for breaking generational trauma developed early. My goal is to help clients identify and understand their challenges to create a better quality of life. My approach My therapeutic approach is the "Here and now." I focus on helping clients understand who they are and what they are CURRENTLY feeling to make feasible changes. While the past is important, the present is our focus. My focus I treat young adults experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, self-esteem, stress, and life transitions. My communication style Therapy is a journey of discovery. I enjoy psychoeducating clients while helping them uncover and identify symptoms. I provide an environment that can be humorous and fun, as well as vulnerable and challenging. My journey to mental healthcare Navigating life as a Latina from a low-income neighborhood required self-motivation and guidance. I was fortunate to have older siblings who connected me to the right people and set a healthy path toward college. I realized we all need someone to be there—a shoulder to cry on and a voice of wisdom. I became that: a good listener with skills to clinically assist those in need.
