Hi there. I am Genifer Wayrynen, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California with a Master’s in Social Work from California State University, Stanislaus. I enjoy helping people of all ages navigate life stressors. I use a trauma-informed, solution-focused approach to support and empower clients to identify and harness their strengths to reach their goals. My approach I use a strengths-based, solution-focused, and trauma-informed approach to guide therapy. Some modalities I utilize during therapy include CBT, ACT, DBT, narrative therapy, and family systems therapy. My focus I work with clients from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds, varying in age and medical needs. I have experience with veterans, adoptive families, foster care, school-aged children, and those involved with the legal system. I assist individuals and families in navigating grief and loss as well as end-of-life transitions. My communication style I strive to create an environment that is judgment-free yet fosters growth. I see the therapeutic relationship as an opportunity for clients to be themselves and to grow into who and what they want or need to be. My journey to mental healthcare I firmly believe that each person deserves to live a life they can be satisfied with. Life is hard, relationships are hard, mental illness can be hard, and medical issues can be hard. But I believe that amid these struggles, we can find happiness. I want to help each client I work with find joy and peace in the midst of chaos, whatever that looks like for them. My goals for you I believe each client is the expert in their life and should create their own goals. I may help guide the metrics we use to determine if a goal is met, but each person lives in their own skin and should work toward goals that enrich their lives. It is my goal to help move us through that process.
