Genna Power, LCSW

Psychotherapist
IL
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Chicago. I work with adults who are moving through grief, life transitions, or the many challenges that come with caring for others. Together, we’ll create a calm and supportive space to make sense of what’s changing, nurture steadiness within yourself, and gently honor your unique path toward healing and growth. My approach My approach to therapy is grounded in compassion, presence, and the belief that healing happens when our stories are witnessed with care. Much of my work centers around grief in its many forms—whether the death of someone deeply loved, the loss of health or identity, or the quiet, unseen endings that accompany life’s transitions. I hold space for the full spectrum of grief: sorrow, love, anger, relief, confusion, and the longing for what once was. Together, we make room for these emotions without rushing the process or needing them to look a certain way. In our work, we’ll explore what your grief means to you, how it shows up in your daily life, and the ways it continues to shape who you are becoming. I integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based practices to support gentle coping, emotional grounding, and a renewed sense of connection to yourself and others. Clients often describe our sessions as grounding, reflective, and deeply human. My role is to offer a steady presence, someone who can walk alongside you through uncertainty and support you in finding small moments of peace and possibility amid what has changed. My focus You may be carrying the weight of loss, whether through the death of someone you love, a change in your health, a shift in identity, or the quiet endings that life brings over time. You might be living with chronic pain or illness, navigating daily uncertainty while longing to feel more at home in your body.
