Getting to know Georgette Maidiotis

I’m a licensed therapist specializing in anxiety, burnout, and unhealthy coping patterns in high-achieving individuals. Many of my clients appear put-together on the outside while quietly managing overthinking, emotional overwhelm, or habits that no longer serve them. My approach blends mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, psychodynamic work, and creative techniques—combining practical tools with deeper insight to create change that’s not just understood, but felt in your day-to-day life. I’m an active, collaborative therapist. That means I don’t just listen—I offer feedback, guidance, and support as we work toward meaningful, sustainable change. Therapy with me is tailored to you and moves at a pace that feels both safe and productive. All sessions are held via telehealth, making it easy to access care anywhere in New York.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me feels warm, direct, and collaborative. I actively engage in sessions by offering reflections, practical tools, and gentle challenges when patterns keep you stuck. I incorporate holistic elements such as nervous system regulation techniques, mindfulness, and lifestyle awareness alongside evidence-based therapy. You can expect both emotional depth and practical strategy in our work together. We’ll build coping skills, increase self-awareness, and work toward meaningful, lasting change, not just short-term relief.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We start with a free 15-minute consultation, a low-pressure call where you can share what’s been going on, ask questions, and get a feel for whether we’re a good fit. From there, our first full session focuses on understanding you more deeply. Your history, patterns, and what’s bringing you in now. I take time early on to look beyond symptoms and get a full picture of what’s been keeping you stuck. Ongoing sessions are 60 minutes, held weekly via telehealth. My approach blends evidence-based therapy with holistic strategies like mindfulness and nervous system regulation, so the work creates change you can actually feel in your day-to-day life. Together, we’ll build insight into your patterns, develop coping tools that fit your life, and create more sustainable ways of managing anxiety, burnout, and the habits that come with them. While progress isn’t always linear, clients often begin to feel more grounded, self-aware, and in control over time. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach—everything is tailored to you, and we move at a pace that feels both safe and productive. When you’re ready, reaching out is simple. I’m here.
