It's really easy to feel disconnected and alone in today's world, where we stare at screens more than we lock eyes, and the demands of work, school, family, friends, and society leave very little time (if any) for adequate rest and recovery. Social media perfectionism and competition are more likely to influence feelings of inadequacy and isolation than connectedness, particularly among young people, and people of all ages are feeling lonelier than in decades past. When personal crises arise, the world does not stop spinning, and we are somehow expected to carry on with the same positivity and productivity. This is all not okay, and it makes sense to not be okay. Recognizing that everyone has their struggles, when we face hardships, we often do not want to burden others with our troubles. So we stuff it down and try to handle it on our own, but one thing I know for certain is that, just like happiness and joy, pain and suffering are not meant to be experienced alone. This belief is what drove me into this work over a decade ago, and I've picked up some professional tools and science-backed hacks along the way. I hold a Master's in Clinical Social Work from Rutgers University and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado Boulder. My practice is diverse, pulling on a wide spectrum of experience serving clients from all walks of life. I have worked in foster care with abused and neglected children and their families, founded and operated a mental health clinic in an underfunded public school, serve as a mental health consultant for the New Jersey Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and work in private practice with adults experiencing a wide range of diagnoses, from ADHD, anxiety, and depression to mood and personality disorders and active psychosis.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Drawing from a comprehensive framework that integrates psychodynamic therapy—which explores how unconscious and childhood experiences influence behavior—and humanistic therapy—focusing on holistic personal growth—I incorporate skill-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness practices into my work. This integrative and dynamic approach allows me to tailor our sessions and treatment plan to your needs and goals as they arise. Originally from Colorado and currently living in Brooklyn, with stints in California, North Carolina and New Jersey along the way, I love the outdoors, writing and researching, sports, DIY, my people and pets. I am passionate about mental health and this is truly my life’s work.
