Getting to know Giancarlo Simpson
Many of us navigate the world using the survival skills we learned in childhood. We often grew up learning to view and interact with the world in ways that made us feel safe. However, some of these survival styles now hinder us from building deeper connections with others and ourselves. Our marriages become challenging, family interactions feel superficial, and we often feel the need to be vulnerable but hold back out of fear of judgment. This stops us from connecting with others, establishing boundaries, and making better decisions. With a PhD in Marriage and Family Counseling from Nova Southeastern University and a Master’s in Clinical, Counseling, and Applied Psychology from Lynn University, I am dedicated to helping individuals and families overcome these barriers to foster genuine connection and growth.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I will provide you with the space to explore generational patterns that have benefitted and hindered you. In doing so, you will acquire the knowledge to overcome your anxiety, depression, and other life obstacles. I will help you reframe your understanding of vulnerability and see it as a strength and not a weakness. It is time to be different!
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Progress is a process! Becoming a better you will take patience, grace, and consistency. All of which we will work on together. You will have better communication in your relationships, your negative thoughts will be challenged by true and positive ones, and you will finally give yourself permission to live a different life. Better than it was before.
