What should a new client know about working with you?

Beginning therapy can feel overwhelming, and I want every client to know that they will be met with compassion, respect, and without judgment. My goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where you feel comfortable being yourself and discussing the challenges that bring you to treatment. I believe that every person has strengths, resilience, and the capacity for growth, even during difficult times. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to work alongside you, helping you gain insight, develop effective coping strategies, and build the tools needed to create meaningful and lasting change. With more than 20 years of experience in mental health and substance use treatment, I have worked with individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and co-occurring disorders. I take a personalized approach to care because I understand that no two people have the same experiences or needs. As both a clinician and the Executive Director and Clinical Director of Therapy Now Mental Health Outpatient Services, I am passionate about providing high-quality, evidence-based care that addresses the whole person. I value collaboration and believe that treatment is most effective when clients feel heard, empowered, and actively involved in their care. When appropriate, our team can also coordinate psychiatric evaluations and medication management as part of a comprehensive treatment plan. Most importantly, I want you to know that seeking help is a sign of strength. Whether you are facing a specific challenge or simply looking to improve your overall well-being, I am committed to supporting you on your journey toward healing, growth, and a healthier, more balanced life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach begins with getting to know you as a person, not just your symptoms or challenges. During our initial sessions, I take time to understand your concerns, personal history, strengths, goals, and what you hope to achieve through treatment. Together, we identify the areas of your life that are causing distress and develop a personalized treatment plan that reflects your unique needs and priorities. I believe therapy is most effective when it is collaborative. I work alongside my clients to create realistic goals and provide practical tools and strategies that can be applied in everyday life. Depending on your needs, I may incorporate evidence-based approaches such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed interventions, and strengths-based techniques. Throughout the therapeutic process, we regularly evaluate progress, celebrate successes, and adjust treatment goals as needed. My focus is on helping clients develop insight, improve coping skills, strengthen relationships, manage symptoms, and build resilience so they can achieve lasting emotional wellness. At Therapy Now Mental Health Outpatient Services, we recognize that treatment is not one-size-fits-all. When appropriate, I collaborate with other members of our multidisciplinary team to coordinate care, including psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and additional support services to ensure clients receive comprehensive, integrated treatment. Above all, I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make positive changes in their lives. My goal is to help you move beyond simply managing challenges and toward creating a healthier, more fulfilling future.
