Getting to know Gina Pennington
Are you feeling a little “off” lately? Down, anxious or unsure what comes next in life. Or, it could be you just don’t feel like yourself and you’re not sure why. You are not alone. To have problems means that you are human; but there is hope. I provide a warm, accepting space for people to explore what matters to them and what’s getting in their way. In 2008, I graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Masters in Clinical Community Counseling. Now, as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), I have been in private practice since 2015. I primarily work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. I help clients learn to feel more comfortable with their emotions, to experiment with different ways of relating to their thoughts and feelings, to cultivate resilience, and to develop the self-trust and self-compassion that will support them along their paths. I use a variety approaches such as acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness and IFS.
