Getting to know Giovanni Valdivia

This past year has brought struggles for many people. Job insecurity, anxiety, and wondering if we are doing the right thing for our families are just some of the challenges we face every day. If you have been dealing with these thoughts and more, reaching out to a counselor may be a way to help. Trying to find our place in the chaos of pressures from the world and the internal demands we place on ourselves can wear us out. I hold a Master's in Counseling and a Bachelor's degree from Sam Houston State University, as well as a Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas, Austin, which equip me to support individuals navigating these difficult times.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach to working with individuals or couples is to work with you at your own pace. I will allow for you to learn strategies and practice them in your life in a way that empowers you. The path to getting to a place you strive for may be difficult, but I hope to have the opportunity to help you reach a destination of peace, comfort, and strength.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Being a therapist is fulfilling. I love guiding people toward positive changes and watching them transform their lives. The most rewarding thing about being a therapist is knowing that I made a difference in people's lives. I am committed to encouraging you to see healing and transformation is possible. I have a natural ability to: Understand people's experiences Help people identify what they are feeling Reflect people's thoughts back to them Sense what other people may be thinking and feeling
