Dr. Gita Zarnegar holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology and a Psy.D. in psychoanalysis from the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis. She also earned a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Loma Linda University Medical Center and has been a licensed M.F.T. since 1988. With over 32 years of private practice experience in Los Angeles, California, Dr. Zarnegar specializes in mood disorders, couples therapy, and trauma-related issues. She has lectured at the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis, American Jewish University, UCLA, Sinai Temple, Maple Center, Kenter School, Milken High School, and the International Association for Psychoanalytic Self Psychology, where she has also been a plenary speaker. Dr. Zarnegar was honored as Scholar in Residence at the Sinai Sisterhood retreat. She has served on the Board of the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis and chaired the ICP Extension program for three years.
