Getting to know Glenda Colon
As a psychotherapist for 20 years, I have provided bilingual (Spanish) psychosocial individual and group treatment to individuals diagnosed with mental illness in an outpatient psychosocial clubhouse program within a hospital setting. I also worked with individuals diagnosed with both mental illness and substance abuse in a substance abuse community residence. I hold a Master's in Rehabilitation Counseling from Hunter College, City University of New York.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Therapy is a safe place where you can disclose your most intimate issues, but also a place to blossom and learn different techniques to empower yourself leading to advocating for yourself. This is successfully accomplished with patience and perseverance practiced by both therapist and consumer.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
People believe that therapy is a place where therapists solve problems. It is a place where therapists are effective listeners, and teachers, that provide individuals with tools to empower themselves to live effectively in their community

Once you schedule your initial appointment at Zocdoc, I will then need to confirm your appointment within 24 hours or your appointment will be canceled: I will send you an email so you can provide the following information:
1) Insurance
* Carrier
* Member ID
* Group Number
2) Credit card or debit card information
* Credit card number
* Expiration date
* CVV (located back of your card)
* Residential zip code
* Person's name on the card is different
from yours
After all this information has been provided by email, the above information will be entered into the Headway database (a billing agency). Then you will receive an email from Headway requesting to register. Please register by completing documents and returning them completed.
At that point, you would have successfully completed your registration at Headway and your appointment will be confirmed. If your insurance is not accepted I will contact you by email.
As mentioned above, you would need to provide the above information within 24 hours from the time you scheduled your appointment at Zocdoc.com or your appointment will be canceled.
