Getting to know Gloria Asare

Therapy provides a safe space to express feelings, thoughts, and emotions with an expert who can guide you to a better understanding of yourself and the world around you. It offers relief from some of the most stressful, deeply personal problems that may otherwise go unspoken. I am a Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor's degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. I have extensive experience working with adults with serious mental illnesses, children experiencing family trauma and abandonment, individuals and families, groups, and interpersonal relationships. I use an integrative approach to assess clients' struggles and build on their strengths. Among my specialties are Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) to treat anxiety disorders, depression, gender identity concerns, relationship challenges, divorce, and codependency. I also employ various approaches to maintain a high level of awareness of the specific problems presented. I bring comfort and warmth to the therapeutic relationship.
