“She is everything you would hope for in a counselor—insightful, compassionate, patient, and completely nonjudgmental. She creates a safe, nonjudgmental space that makes it easy to open up, which is not easy to find. Her approach is thoughtful and highly skilled, with a clear plan and purpose behind each session. She has helped me work through difficult memories and begin to make peace with things I didn’t think I could. What once felt overwhelming has become manageable, and counseling has gone from something I dreaded to something I truly look forward to. I’m incredibly grateful for her.”

Getting to know Gloria Grace Woods

Life can be unpredictable and messy. Beneath the surface, many of us carry unspoken pain and hidden struggles, even as we try to look strong on the outside. We are all beautifully human — imperfect and yet fully deserving of kindness and acceptance. Imagine entering a space where you are truly welcomed as you are, free of judgment, and where your story is held with deep care and compassion. Trust is at the heart of meaningful therapy. Having moved through my own challenges, I understand the courage it takes to open up and the relief of finally being truly seen. I believe we all long to feel deeply known and loved for who we are, without needing to hide parts of ourselves. Therapy offers a safe, supportive environment to explore these needs, let go of heavy burdens, and begin building a more genuine and connected life. As your therapist, I won’t stand above you or point from a distance. I will be right there beside you, walking with you into the difficult and tender parts of your story. With empathy, clinical skill, and unwavering support, we will work together to uncover old wounds and discover a path toward healing and freedom. This is why I named my practice Journey of Healing Counseling — because therapy is truly a journey, often winding and challenging, and ultimately leading toward greater hope, self-discovery, and wholeness. In this space, you will be fully seen and deeply heard. You are invited to come exactly as you are, to explore and process what lies beneath the surface, and to heal in an atmosphere of kindness and respect. True healing involves the mind, body, and spirit working together. By understanding and embracing your story, you can find self-acceptance, reclaim your voice, and strengthen your sense of who you truly are. I will honor your journey with dignity and compassion, and it would be my privilege to walk alongside you toward deeper healing, freedom, and authentic connection.

What should a new client know about working with you?

If you are an adult over 30, you may find yourself quietly navigating grief and loss, the impact of past trauma, struggling with addiction, relational difficulties, or a painful sense of self-doubt and low self-worth. I work with both women and men who long for a place where they can finally put down what they have been carrying and be met with compassion rather than judgment. I understand the courage it takes to open up and allow yourself to be truly seen. In our work together, I will walk alongside you as we explore the difficult and tender parts of your story. I will create a space where you feel deeply heard and respected, where we can gently uncover the roots of what has been weighing on you, and where healing, clarity, and a renewed sense of self can begin to take shape. My approach to therapy is to create a safe and supportive space where your story can be truly heard and held with care. I believe the chapters of your life — your experiences, relationships, and beliefs — shape how you see yourself and connect with others, and some chapters may carry shame, pain, or emotional wounds that feel too heavy to share. Together, we explore these experiences to understand how your past influences your current emotions, patterns, and relationships. This process fosters insight, reduces isolation, and nurtures genuine connection, helping you experience meaningful emotional healing while learning that you do not have to carry your story alone.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In your first session, you can expect a calm and welcoming space where you are truly seen, heard, and accepted as you are. We’ll take time to explore what brought you to therapy, your experiences, and what matters most to you, at a pace that feels safe and comfortable. I provide thoughtful guidance, gentle questions, and compassionate support as we begin to get to know each other and understand your needs. By the end of our time together, my hope is that you feel understood, valued, and encouraged — knowing that this is a place where your story can be shared with care and warmth. As we progress, we embark on a deeper journey of healing and self-discovery. At the core of my work is a person-centered approach — a philosophy rooted in unconditional positive regard, empathy, and authenticity. This approach allows you to feel deeply accepted and empowered to explore your inner world without fear of judgment. I believe the answers lie within you; my role is to guide you to find them. I will support you in engaging your story, as we look at each chapter and as you heal through your narrative. As you find compassion for your inner child, you will discover how to write the present and future chapters of the storybook of your life, transitioning from victim to victor - ultimately finding freedom and authenticity.

I am so glad I chose Grace when looking for a therapist! My visits are always timely and professional. She has proven to have the training and expertise to help me in a myriad of ways, using different methods and approaches as necessary.
Seeing Grace has been such a gift. She is brilliant and deeply kind, with a way of getting straight to the heart of things without ever making me feel inadequate or wrong. Instead, she meets me with understanding and clarity, affirming what’s true while gently helping me see what matters most. Each time I leave, things feel lighter—like I can breathe again. She has a way of creating space where everything feels more manageable, more grounded, and more hopeful
Grace is an incredibly compassionate and skilled provider. We did EMDR therapy to work through trauma and after seeing 2 different therapists in my past, this is when things finally clicked and I felt like I could move forward in life with peace and joy. Grace is very, very good and knowing her clients well and matching them with the right type of therapy.
I always refer to Grace as "My Saving Grace" because she really has been. I've been seeing Grace for over 1.5 years. I cannot recommend her enough. She is everything a therapist should be and more. There was a long time in my life when I was barely keeping my nose above water. I have PTSD, Major Depression, and anxiety. Grace was by my side throughout the entire journey. She helped get me to a place where life is manageable. I cannot thank her enough.
I’ve seen Grace for over a year to work out some unresolved mother issues. She is an excellent listener and so pulls out what needs to be probed further. She offers gentle, insightful observations and suggests ways and means to healthy pathways of thinking. Grace has led me to a peaceful place of understanding, acceptance and healing. I have revisited her for assistance in other life issues, and I will again. I leave our times having gained perspective, with practical tools for handling situations which baffled me. I highly recommend Grace to you, as I’ve already done to others.
Grace was always so gentle and patient with me, providing a safe space where I can open up and be authentic. I always felt like she had my best interest in heart and cared about making me feel understood. Grace asked great questions that made me really think about how I felt and what I experienced. Even when I moved to a different state with a different time zone, she was willing to accommodate me on an online platform. She cares deeply about her clients and it shows! I would highly recommend Grace to anyone!
Grace is kind, observant, patient and has provided a very safe space for me. I highly recommend her if those are values you need/seek in a therapist.

Grace is incredibly helpful, thoughtful, and professional. She always provides the most care and empathy on sensitive subjects and her has guidance changed my life, and honestly, the way I view myself. Good therapists are hard to find and Grace is unique in the way she practices- she leads with kindness, love, and an open heart. My sessions with are a necessary part of my self care routine, they’ve made me a better daughter, friend, coworker, and human. Good therapists are hard to find but Grace is one of the easiest choices I’ve made.
My times with Grace have always been filled with such gentleness, understanding, and meaningful insight. She has been so helpful in growing my perspective of myself and helping me to heal the inner parts of myself that I hadn't realized we're having a big impact over my mental well being.
