Getting to know Gloria Wetterstrom

I have always enjoyed working in a position that allows me to be of service to others; whether that be in a community customer service role, lending a helping hand, being a good listener, or providing community resources to those in need. There have been very important people in my life who did not have access to necessary support when they needed it most. My decision to do this work was significantly influenced by their lifelong struggles. I earned my Master’s in Psychology from California State University, Chico, which has deepened my understanding and ability to support others effectively. If the role I play in another person's life helps to increase their quality of life, even if just a little, that's progress.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I enjoy working with, and supporting, trauma survivors, gay, lesbian, and bisexual individuals, transitional age youth, and elderly.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I believe the therapeutic relationship is the key to creating a supportive and welcoming environment. Having a trusting relationship increases a client's potential toward positive growth and healthy change(s) within one's own life. It is an honor to be part of this process, and to witness it unfold.
