Grace E Murphy, LCSW

Psychotherapist
FL
Hi I'm Grace! I typically support young adults, adolescents, and families who are navigating anxiety, relationship issues and family conflicts. I love working with people who feel overwhelmed — overthinking everything, shutting down, getting irritable, or stuck in the same patterns. Life, relationships, or responsibilities can suddenly feel heavier than they should, and it’s exhausting to carry alone. My goal is to create a space where you can talk openly, feel understood, and not worry about being judged. Together, we’ll figure out what’s going on and build practical tools so things feel more manageable and less stuck. I help clients understand their reactions — whether that shows up as anxiety, irritability, avoidance, or shutting down — and learn skills to handle emotions, communicate more clearly, and cope day-to-day. We also gently explore how past experiences may still be influencing the present. My approach is relationship-focused, trauma-aware, and strength-based, If you’ve been carrying a lot by yourself, therapy can be a place to slow down and feel understood. I genuinely love what I do and would be honored to meet you where you are.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I use an integrated approach that blends trauma-informed care with practical coping skills. I believe it's important to understand our emotions — where they come from and how we respond to them — while also recognizing how the systems around us can either support or impact our mental health. The main areas I focus on include how past experiences and trauma affect the present, how current relationships shape emotions and behavior, and how ongoing stressors can contribute to anxiety, depression, and self-worth struggles.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We usually start with an intake session where I get to know you, your concerns, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. From there, we work together to create a plan that feels realistic and helpful. In sessions, we talk through current challenges, identify patterns in thoughts and behaviors, and build practical coping skills you can use in everyday life. I keep sessions supportive, flexible, and comfortable—I welcome humor and silliness, and I also create space for you to cry, vent, and process difficult emotions. For children and teens, I like to incorporate games and activities to help them express themselves in a way that feels natural. I also strongly encourage family involvement when appropriate
