Getting to know Greg Hilgert

Have you ever felt overwhelmed, stuck, burdened by fears, and quite simply lost? I think we all have at one time or another. My life has brought me through a winding path and, along the way, I have met some amazing people-clients who are doing their best despite the burdens they carry. I hold an EdM in Counseling Psychology from Columbia University's Teachers College and completed my internship at Holliswood Hospital. Despite my two master's degrees and over 20 years of counseling experience, I still get chills when clients have that "ah-ha" moment and begin a new path in their life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I value the uniqueness of you. No person, conflict, issue, or struggle is the same. Throughout the years, I've had the pleasure of supporting many clients as they address their interpersonal problems, mood disorders, and trauma histories. My approach will always be to meet you where you are at and help you be the best 'you' that you can be today.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

As you can likely tell by now, my approach is eclectic and very client-centered. My goals will always be your goals. I strive to create an environment in sessions that allows you to open up, share things you haven't shared before, and realize what is holding you back from your healthy/happy life.

More information on payments and coverage

My typical session fee is $100 per session ($150 for the intake session). However, I never want finances to get in the way of you getting the therapy you need. Therefore, I'm happy to work with you to sort out your specific insurance, or private pay, situation.

I was contacted saying that the apps schedule was incorrect on Monday and gave me several different appointment dates or times. I wasn’t able to read the email until late that evening but replied with my availability for the time slots that were open. By Tuesday evening I still had not heard back and reached out once again. This email also never got a reply. I can’t tell you how he is as a doctor but I can say his communication with patients is poor unfortunately.
