My name is Gregorio but you can call me Greg. I am a Christian and a bilingual licensed professional counselor in Texas. I specialize in working with distressed couples who are about to get married but are currently facing relationship strains and may have concerns about how their marriage life may look like.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I utilize an evidenced based approach called Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Evidence based simply means that it's been studied scientifically repeatedly and found to provide the desired effect in helping couples heal. EFT has been studied since the early 1980s by its prominent founder, the late Sue Johnson. With EFT, there are two main layers to care. The first is to reduce the conflict so that we can be able to get to the root cause of the conflict and be able to resolve it. The second layer is to help you connect with each other in a different, healthier way. Although this approach is scientific, it also aligns well with Biblical Scripture because through this science, we've simply unlocked how our creator made us.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

On the first session, I'll ask basic questions that are standard and expected in the field of professional counseling. This would be an intake assessment with both of you as a couple. I will then meet with each of you individually on separate sessions so that you each have your own voice and where I'll do individual assessments. Afterwards, we will resume working with you as a couple together.
