Gretchen Faust, CMHC

Psychotherapist
UT
I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor licensed in Utah. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Toledo. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults and specialize in borderline personality disorders, trauma recovery, depressive disorders, and anxiety disorders. My approach I am flexible in my therapeutic approach based on client needs. I believe all people are doing the best they can in each moment but want to improve themselves. I use a strength-based approach and utilize dialectical behavior therapy and cognitive behavior therapy. I also use EMDR with those working through trauma. My focus I am comfortable working with clients with most diagnoses and backgrounds. I have experience conducting dialectical behavior therapy groups, beneficial for clients with borderline personality disorder, depression, and anxiety. As an active person, I also enjoy working with those who have experienced trauma from recreating or sports. My communication style Therapy is a place for you to express anything without feeling judged. I strive to create a space where clients feel comfortable to do so. My journey to mental healthcare I believe in the power of therapy. I have benefited from it throughout my life and hope to hold that space for others. Being a therapist is an incredible privilege. I am thankful for my clients who have trusted me with their stories and struggles. My goals for you Everyone comes to therapy for a reason. I want to know what you want to get out of therapy so we can create goals together. My first session with you Our first session is a chance for me to get to know you, learn your goals, and hear about struggles you’ve been facing. Don’t feel you need to prepare for this session (unless you want to).
