Guadalupe Avitia is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist currently working under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. Their CA license number is 134317, and their current employer is Remarkable Services. Guadalupe earned a Master's in Counseling Psychology from Pepperdine University - Calabasas. If you're feeling overwhelmed by life's challenges, know that you don't have to face them alone. I offer a compassionate, safe space where your thoughts and feelings are welcomed and respected. Together, we can explore your experiences, unravel the complexities of your emotions, and work toward the goals that matter most to you. Whether you're navigating relationship issues, grappling with anxiety or depression, or seeking to heal from trauma, my approach is tailored to meet you where you are. As a bilingual Mexican-American Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, I am committed to providing a safe and understanding space for individuals, families, teens, and adults. I often use a blend of trauma-focused treatment, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), psychodynamics, and the Gottman Method Level 1 to meet your needs. With fluency in Spanish and English, I provide a collaborative environment where we work toward enhancing your self-awareness and acquiring coping tools to overcome emotional and psychological distress. If you're ready to step toward change, I'm here to support and guide you on this journey.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My goal is to help you feel heard and understood. I take a collaborative strength-based approach to therapy, which means we will work together to explore your goals and identify individual strategies that work best for you. Therapy is a personal journey, and we will go at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In the beginning we focus on building our therapeutic relationship, helping us create a plan for our work together. Sessions will be guided by your needs and goals as we will explore your thoughts, emotions and behaviors as we introduce tools and/or strategies that may support you. As we proceed, we will reflect on your progress, as the goal is help you feel supported while building the skills and insights you need to create a healthier life.

I was hesitant to start therapy, but Lupe made me feel welcomed and supported from the very first session.
I now feel more empowered and capable of navigating life's with a new found sense of control.
I have noticed real progress in my personal growth and feel more confident moving forward.
I made my appointment online at zocdoc 15 minutes before my appointment I tried logging in for my session and I was told the therapist will contact me directly for further login instructions I waited for 45 minutes and not once did anyone or the therapist bother. Reaching out I’m an understanding person so if by chance we needed to reschedule or any thing I would have understood & appreciated a heads up & still 4 days later I still haven’t heard anything
