Guy Felder, LPC Associate

Psychotherapist
1225 N Loop W, Houston, TX
I specialize in working with executives, entrepreneurs, leaders, first responders, and other men in demanding careers who don’t have time to talk in circles and need strategic, performance-focused therapy. We’ll focus on stabilizing what's creating immediate risk, then maintaining momentum so you can perform at the level you expect of yourself. You don’t have to wait until there is damage to your career, finances, or relationship to start therapy. If you're in a role where being at the top of your game matters, but the problems you're dealing with are growing in risk and cost, my approach is built for you. The provider is supervised by Darryl Scott Stanley.

Getting to know Guy Felder

I specialize in working with executives, entrepreneurs, leaders, first responders, and other men in demanding careers who don’t have time to talk in circles and need strategic, performance-focused therapy. We’ll focus on stabilizing what's creating immediate risk, then maintaining momentum so you can perform at the level you expect of yourself. You don’t have to wait until there is damage to your career, finances, or relationship to start therapy. What should a new client know about working with you?

Sessions are strategic, practical, and outcome-oriented. We focus on what’s getting in the way and make changes with the greatest impact and least disruption possible. Talking is purposeful and focused, turning insight into meaningful behavioral change. EMDR can accelerate results while helping you remain fully engaged in work and life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Phase 1: Establish Baseline + Clarify Goals We start by getting to know each other giving you time to determine whether you feel comfortable working together. We identify what’s working, what isn’t, and define clear, realistic goals so our work has direction from the start. Goals for this phase include: - Intake and history gathering - Assessment and evaluation to deepen our understand of what brought you to therapy -Establish a treatment plan to define the approach we will take towards working with you - Determine whether you wish to continue into on-going therapy or if there is some other way I can support you. Phase 2: Restore Functionality We focus on reducing symptoms that are impacting your daily life. This focus allows us to work on restoring functioning so that you can get back to your daily life. Think of this as the start of more traditional therapy. Phase 3: Building Long-Term Resilience With daily functioning restored we begin to address deeper patterns and systems that tend to contribute to loss of function overtime, strengthening the internal systems that support you under pressure so progress holds and future strain is more manageable.
