Guy Felder, LPC Associate

Guy Felder, LPC Associate

Psychotherapist
1225 N Loop W, Houston, TX
The provider is supervised by Darryl Scott Stanley. As a therapist, I aim to offer an approach that is informed by my lived experiences as well as my training to empower anyone striving for personal growth and self-discovery. Life's pressures—from career demands and family expectations to enduring pain and self-imposed limitations—often create distractions that can lead us away from what truly matters. Embracing our true selves, in essence, becomes a form of worthwhile rebellion. In a world where struggle is inevitable, I advocate for choosing a path that is not only challenging but also enriching and fulfilling. This commitment to authenticity is not just a personal endeavor; it is a transformative process that can inspire not only our journey but those of others as well.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I play an active part in therapy sharing insights and perspectives when they are relevant. I lean on my past experience as well as my training to help you find a path forward that is built on your values and what is important to you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Phase 1: Establish Baseline + Clarify Goals We start by getting to know each other giving you time to determine whether you feel comfortable working together. We identify what’s working, what isn’t, and define clear, realistic goals so our work has direction from the start. Goals for this phase include: - Intake and history gathering - Assessment and evaluation to deepen our understand of what brought you to therapy -Establish a treatment plan to define the approach we will take towards working with you - Determine whether you wish to continue into on-going therapy or if there is some other way I can support you. Phase 2: Restore Functionality We focus on reducing symptoms that are impacting your daily life. This focus allows us to work on restoring functioning so that you can get back to your daily life. Think of this as the start of more traditional therapy. Phase 3: Building Long-Term Resilience With daily functioning restored we begin to address deeper patterns and systems that tend to contribute to loss of function overtime, strengthening the internal systems that support you under pressure so progress holds and future strain is more manageable.
