Gwendoline Courreges, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
I grew up in Paris, France, in a family passionate about the arts. My grandfather, a deeply spiritual person, taught me to see the humanity in everyone and nurtured an open-minded, non-judgmental perspective. This upbringing has profoundly shaped my approach as a therapist, enabling me to connect with clients on a meaningful level. My diverse experiences living in France, the USA, and Thailand, along with extensive travels, have given me a rich understanding of various cultures and social settings. This global perspective enhances my ability to relate to people from all walks of life. I hold a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling, a Master’s in International Affairs, and have a background in linguistics and anthropology. These academic and real-world experiences provide a well-rounded foundation for understanding and supporting clients within their unique cultural and personal contexts. Philosophy is central to my approach, offering fresh perspectives that enrich my practice. My commitment to holistic healing is evident in my published works and the innovative ecopsychology course I’ve developed, designed to guide clients toward meaningful personal growth. Professionally, I’ve had the privilege of working with inmates at Travis County Correctional Complex, supporting individuals facing challenges like drug abuse, schizophrenia, depression, trauma, and grief. My hands-on experience in these challenging environments, combined with my academic background, allows me to build deep trust and foster positive change. I also believe in finding and sharing joy and humor, even in the darkest of places, to foster resilience and connection. In both individual and group settings, I strive to create a space for creative expression and personal transformation. My goal is to embody the values I stand for—justice, truth, freedom and genuine connection—while working for a better and happier world. Fluent in French and English, with conversational Spanish and basic Thai.
