NY
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with over 10 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, young adults, adults, couples, and families. I earned my Master of Social Work from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and hold a SIFI certification from Columbia University, which qualifies me to train and supervise social work interns. My clinical work spans private practice, school-based mental health, and trauma services. I have served as a therapist, clinical supervisor, and clinical site manager, and I have extensive experience supporting survivors of domestic violence, intimate partner violence, and other forms of trauma. I help clients with anxiety, stress, trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, self-esteem, life transitions, relationship and family challenges, and emotional difficulties in children and teens. I also have experience supporting clients through crisis situations and difficult emotional moments. My approach is warm, person-centered, and trauma-informed. I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness practices. For younger clients, I also use play-based techniques. I value the whole person, mind, body, and spirit, and I tailor every session to your background, strengths, and goals.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you feel truly seen and heard. I have worked with people from many cultures, backgrounds, and walks of life, and I respect the experiences and values that make you who you are. You do not need to know exactly what to say when we start. Many clients come in simply feeling overwhelmed or stuck, and we will figure out the next steps together. I move at your pace. If you have been through trauma, we will build trust and safety first before exploring anything painful. I believe healing involves the whole person. Alongside talk therapy, I may bring in mindfulness, reflective exercises, and practical tools you can use between sessions. I work with individuals, couples, families, and young people, so therapy can include the people who matter most to you when that is helpful. Above all, you will be treated with compassion, respect, and genuine care from our first session onward.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Getting started: Our first session focuses on understanding you. We talk about what brings you to therapy, your history, current challenges, strengths, and what you would like to change. You are welcome to ask me anything so you can feel comfortable with the process. Setting goals: Together we create a treatment plan with clear, meaningful goals that reflect your priorities. Ongoing sessions: We meet regularly, usually weekly or biweekly at the start. Sessions combine supportive conversation with evidence-based approaches such as CBT, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness. You will build skills for managing stress, emotions, relationships, and everyday challenges. For children and teens, sessions may include play-based and creative activities. For couples and families, we focus on communication and strengthening connection. Additional support: When helpful, I connect clients with community resources that support their treatment goals. Checking progress: We review your progress regularly and adjust the plan as your needs change. Moving forward: As you reach your goals, we space out sessions and focus on keeping your progress strong so you feel confident on your own.
