Getting to know Haley Grimste

Do you or a loved one need help navigating trauma, emotional dysregulation, family conflict, a new mental health diagnosis, or any other challenges affecting your well-being? As a Licensed Social Worker (LSW), I specialize in addressing a range of challenges for patients from all walks of life who want to process trauma or work through grief, and am especially passionate about helping children, teens, and their parents. For example, your child or teen may struggle with big feelings, explosive anger, shutdowns, elopement, school stress, processing trauma, the loss of a loved one, or other complicated grief. As their parent or caregiver, you may want to improve parenting skills or develop clearer communication, reduced conflict, healthier patterns at home, or a more connected family experience. No matter the issue, I assure a safe space where you and your child feel heard, understood, and empowered. My approach is strengths-focused, evidenced-based, and creatively individualized for each person’s individual goals. I look forward to being part of you and your family’s journey in feeling more confident, capable, and connected.

What should a new client know about working with you?

DISCLAIMER: not accepting Medicare or Medicaid plans at this time. My path toward therapeutic care began by working closely with families and youth whose trauma shaped their emotions, behaviors, and relationships. Seeing how layered each person’s story was helped me understand that healing isn’t one-size-fits-all, and how powerful it is when someone finally feels understood. This work, combined with my experiences as a clinician, have shown me that meaningful change and healing is possible for anyone with the right support.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I believe healing starts with feeling deeply heard and supported, and continues as you build the skills and confidence to move forward. In our time together, you are empowered to begin that healing in a validating, structured, and skill-building environment. I take a warm and direct approach, tailoring sessions to your unique life story, current situation, and goals. Sessions may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavior Therapy, and family systems interventions to help you regulate emotions, improve communication, and heal from stress or trauma.
