Getting to know Haley Scher
I specialize in teenagers, children, and adults with a wide range of mental health issues. I’m LGBTQIA+ affirming and work with people from all cultural backgrounds. In addition to working with individuals, I love working with families who can’t seem to understand each other or can’t stop fighting. As a second-generation immigrant myself, I work a lot with generational differences in multicultural families.
If you’re new to therapy, welcome! It can be a deeply challenging and rewarding process, but we’ll be in it together. Therapy is a relationship between a client and a therapist, not a one-way street. I’ll be my genuine, imperfect self, and you be yours.
I bring humor and authenticity to my sessions, and I take an eclectic approach. That means I draw from multiple theories of psychotherapy, including existential, humanistic, CBT, ACT, mindfulness, feminism, Gestalt, and many more depending on who you are, what you need, and what you find the most helpful.
