Getting to know Hamdalat Ekemode

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Sam Houston University. With a wealth of experience, knowledge, and skills, my goal is to empower individuals struggling with mental health challenges toward maximizing their potential toward healing. My counseling modalities range from person-centered, cognitive behavioral therapy solution focused brief therapy, Trauma informed care to play therapy techniques for children. My approach is meeting clients where they are through active and reflective listening, empathy and warmth to establish an alliance and safe space for the client. We collaborate to develop a treatment plan with effective therapeutic strategies to tackle their mental health challenges in working toward their goal for their desired outcome. I am open to work with children, adolescents and adults struggling with trauma, depression, anxiety, anger, work, marital or family issues. During each session, I work on creating a trusting, non judgmental and safe space to promote a relaxed and comfortable environment for the client to feel heard, understood and supported as they work toward reaching their goal toward healing.
