Getting to know Hannah Anderson

In college, I started out as an English major because I empathized with fictional and nonfictional characters in books. I view this profession as a logical extension of that passion. I genuinely like people and become interested in their journeys as well as invested in their outcomes. I believe that we were never meant to endure the toughest times in our lives alone. As a therapist, my role is to be the trusted person who will listen to your darkest fears and deepest wounds and stand with confidence alongside you amidst the storm.

What should a new client know about working with you?

**Hannah Does Not Prescribe Medication** Our first session will be a detailed “get to know you” session where we try to understand the complexity of the issues you face while also instilling hope for better days ahead. I enjoy discovering things that I like about every person with whom I work. It reminds me that there are “all kinds of kinds” who make the world such a vibrant place. I also think there is a lot of joy to be experienced when we embrace the bitter and sweet moments together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I believe in self-determination, kindness, honesty, and integrity. I don’t choose your path for you, I strive to help guide you where you ultimately want to go by helping you clarify your own priorities and values. I also want to help you value yourself enough to make the needed changes and feel truly fulfilled. I will be unfailingly honest and trustworthy, but also encouraging, engaging, and kind!
