Hannah Bodes, LCMHC

Psychotherapist
NC
Hi, I'm Hannah Bodes, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor dedicated to helping individuals better understand how trauma may be impacting their daily lives, relationships, and overall well-being. Many people carry the effects of difficult experiences without fully recognizing how those experiences continue to shape their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where we can explore those patterns together and work toward healing. My approach is person-centered and integrative, meaning I tailor therapy to your unique needs, strengths, and goals. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidence-based therapy that can help process traumatic experiences and reduce their lasting impact. In our first few sessions, you can expect me to spend time getting to know you and gathering foundational information about your life, experiences, and what brings you to therapy. Building a strong therapeutic relationship is important to me, and I believe meaningful change begins with feeling seen, heard, and understood. I am passionate about this work because of the therapists who have been influential and supportive throughout different challenging seasons of my own life. Experiencing the power of a strong therapeutic relationship firsthand inspired me to help others find healing, growth, and hope in their own journeys.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My therapeutic approach is grounded in a client-centered, collaborative framework that prioritizes understanding each individual’s unique experiences, needs, and goals. I strive to create a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts, emotions, and challenges at their own pace. I focus on meeting clients where they are, recognizing their current stage of change, readiness, and personal context. Through active listening and ongoing assessment, I work to gain a comprehensive understanding of the factors contributing to their symptoms and overall well-being.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Your first therapy session is usually less about “diving straight into problems” and more about building a foundation. Think of it as a structured conversation where the therapist is getting to know you, while you’re also figuring out if they’re a good fit.
