“Hannah is an amazing therapist that got me through some extremely challenging times especially with work and my personal life. I was really struggling with work-life balance and sustainability and in every session she helped me come up actions I could take to make my situation better. Additionally, she was extremely helpful in working through boundaries and goals with dating and improving my personal life. Hannah is kind and welcoming and I felt extremely comfortable talking to her. Her memory is amazing and she always brought back things we had discussed in previous sessions to support the growth I was making. I would highly recommend her as a therapist!”

Getting to know Hannah Braun

Having worked with hundreds of clients as a mental health therapist, I have experience helping people manage stress, regulate emotions, improve relationships, and navigate change. I use a strengths-based approach, empowering clients to recognize their full potential and providing them with tools to make lasting changes in their lives. I hold a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Medaille University. Experienced in providing Gender Affirming Care, I've been trained in many evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I am motivated to assist clients in finding self-fulfillment and overall wellness; with a background in theatre, I believe that many aspects of life, including music, arts, and sports, can provide therapeutic benefits. My goal is to provide a safe and comfortable space for clients to explore their challenges and reach their full potential.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Victor Frankl once said, “When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves”. I believe that we each have the potential for change! At the start of therapy, we will work together to identify goals and create a plan for change like this. My goal is to assist clients with filling their “toolbox” with skills, techniques, and tricks to strengthen their ability to take control of their own lives and navigate any challenges as they arise. I believe that the end goal of therapy is to no longer need therapy. It is my aim that by the end of our time together, clients feel empowered and capable of moving forward independently with the skills to cope with their emotions, manage stress, and navigate challenges.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I’m a therapist who provides her clients with validation, education, and practical skills from evidence-based modalities. I believe that therapy is the client’s personal time and I’m flexible to follow along with their needs and desires for the session: I begin each session with a check-in, allowing clients the space to bring up any stressors or challenges that they would like. Sessions typically focus on reviewing skills that have been discussed in previous sessions, processing stressors and emotions, and introducing new skills. I like giving clients a goal, assignment, or idea to reflect on between sessions. It is always very rewarding for me to see the progress that my clients make over time!

Hannah is a fantastic psychotherapist! She takes an empathetic and kind approach to your problems, listens actively, and helps you process things in a thoughtful manner. Hannah provides a judgment-free zone in which to work through issues and makes herself available for extra sessions if needed. I worked with Hannah for a full-year and can whole-heartedly say that I am much better off for it.
Had a great time being her patient and if I wasn’t changing insurance, I would have loved to continue with her. Very kind and gentle.
It's been an incredible experience. Hannah is so great and confident at what she does. I recommend her to anyone who's looking for a visible positive change in their lives! -- I have much less anxiety. I went back to practicing arts as a hobby. My relationship with my family is far from being bitter now. I'm thankful.
I was afraid of therapy but this actually was a cool experience. I didn’t think that I’d survive college. Now it feels not that bad, even possibly good at times. While in tight situations, to make them feel easy / smooth, you just apply the tools. Hannah’s been very understanding, approachable, and supportive all through. There's been such situations that she was the only one that I could talk to and she was there for me: #appreciative
Thanks to Hannah, I feel much more grounded and able while handling several different parts of my life. Figuring out how to maneuver and balance the relationships both in professional and personal realms ain’t so easy. Yet I’ve learned that therapy can aim at small things, one thing at a time, which then pile up to make up the whole texture of your living, your life quality, your style of flow. Working with Hannah was the best decision I’ve made and the best gift that I’ve given to myself!
As a member of LGBTQ community, I not only felt heard but also truly supported. I’ve learned several tools to support myself at hard times. I want to say that these tools are almost magic; they’ve been literally -and continually- helping me raise over struggles of life! Yeah, my life still has ups and downs, but I get to swim through it more wisely. I’m thankful to Hannah for it!
I was very impressed by the confidence of Hannah as a therapist and the safety that I was provided with while figuring out my life. It’s been a huge life change, a big positive leap since I’ve started therapy with her! Overall, it’s very assuring to be led by a methodical approach in order to get results, but also great to be able to have honest, open conversations that make me leave the therapy zoom ‘room’ much better than how I went in. I can’t recommend her enough.
I was nervous to start therapy for the first time, but Hannah was a great first therapist to have. She is very supportive and understanding. She would make sure to check in on me every few sessions to make sure that we were still on the right track and that I found it helpful. I can’t thank her enough for all of the help!
Hannah helped me through a big change in my life. She was always patient with me, and made me feel comfortable to share my emotions and be vulnerable in sessions with her. I felt a lot of support from Hannah, and I would recommend her to anyone looking for someone that is easy to talk to and understanding.
She was very professional and knowledgeable. She took the time to teach me different coping skills, and made sure that the things that she taught me were relevant to my current situation. I learned a lot about DBT from Hannah, and I can manage my emotions a lot better now. She was very helpful.
Hannah is kind and welcoming. I felt very comfortable with her because she is casual with her approach and makes therapy feel less intimidating.
I really enjoyed working with Hannah. You can tell that she is really paying attention and listening, and she asks questions to make sure that she understands where you are coming from. I felt comfortable talking to her about anything, and never felt judged.
Hannah did a great job teaching me about my anxiety, and helping me understand what I have been experiencing. She taught me different skills to help me cope with my anxiety and my triggers. I feel more confident in my ability to cope with my anxiety because of what I have learned from Hannah. Definitely recommend.
I've worked with Hannah as my main point of mental health care for over a year. She really takes the time to see what your individual needs and skills are to build treatment plans and goals. The knowledge she provided on DBT and schema has been invaluable. You can be fully honest without fear of judgement and she'll will help however you need. Best provider I've ever had.
I’ve seen Hannah for a good few years and I couldn’t be more happier to have her as my counselor. She’s amazing and very easy to talk to. I always loved how respectful and kind she was towards me on any day on our appointments. It didn’t matter what we were talking about but she was extremely good at knowing what to say to give me a peace of advice/calmness or coping skills to alleviate my problems. Hands down a sensational counselor and better person I had the pleasure of connecting with.????
