Psychotherapist

Looking for therapy for children & adolescents? Great, that's my thing! I work exclusively with children and teens. I'm a “kid-person” at heart, and I know it shows in my ability to connect with and support my young clients. Working with this special age group is more than a job, it is a calling and an honor. My approach My primary objective is to create a space where my young clients feel safe, accepted, understood, and important. Beyond that, I use a variety of therapeutic approaches during sessions because therapy isn't a "one size fits all" type of thing! My toolbox includes: CBT, DBT, Play Therapy, Somatic Work, Trauma-Informed Care, Art Therapy or some combination of the above. My focus I work with children & teens experiencing a wide range of concerns. Some of the most common themes in my work with clients are building self-esteem, self-reliance, and self-advocacy; coping with family stressors like a move or a divorce; exploring one's identity; managing depression, anxiety, stress, and anger; and processing trauma. My communication style My default therapist setting is to provide empathy, unconditional positive regard, and validation to my clients. A strong rapport built on trust and safety is necessary for change to occur, and I take great care to achieve it. Research shows that the therapeutic relationship itself is the #1 indicator of positive outcomes in therapy! Once kiddo and I have developed that relationship, I lean into it when it comes time to gently challenge them or have tough conversations. My journey to mental healthcare I come from a long line of exceptional and passionate educators, and I've always felt that same calling to work with young people. That feeling, coupled with my love of psychology, led me to where I am today. I started my career as a school counselor, serving students and families in Philadelphia.
