Psychotherapist
MN
Welcome! My name is Hannah Puls, and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor practicing in Minnesota. I hold a Master's degree in Forensic Psychology from the University of Denver. I approach therapy as a collaboration and focus on setting my clients up for growth and success by addressing negative thought patterns and unhealthy behaviors in a way that leads to long-term success. My approach I describe my approach as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with a side of Motivational Interviewing and a dash of DBT skills! Kidding aside, ultimately I want to work on what is causing you distress and address that in the most appropriate way that works for YOU. My focus I provide individual therapy to adults (18+) experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, general life stress, substance use issues, and trauma. I have over 15 years of experience working with adults from all walks of life and have specifically worked with the First Responder population as well as individuals experiencing mental health and substance use issues. My communication style I have often described myself to clients as a close friend who gives you evidence-based advice and suggestions. I tend to be casual and relaxed in my communication style and create a warm environment for clients. My journey to mental healthcare It might sound silly, but I have wanted to do this work since I was 13 years old, and that has not changed! I thrive on working with people to build confidence and the ability to manage stress and symptoms independently. I believe I have the ability as a counselor to build a relationship with my clients that is supportive and also holds them accountable for their own success. This is what leads to long-term change! My goals for you I believe that meeting my clients where they are and starting with their goals is our best start. I like to begin with small, achievable goals with a long-term goal in mind on the horizon to build confidence and success.
