Harold Fischer, LCSW

Harold Fischer, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CT
I've been in clinical practice for 30 years. I am a graduate of the University of Connecticut, where I earned my Master's in Social Work, and later attended The Southern California University for Professional Studies. In addition to being clinically oriented, I have an academic concentration in healthcare administration, policy, and planning, as well as a certificate from Cornell University with a focus on Nutrition and Mental Health. Given my theoretical orientation, my clients are provided a nonjudgmental, accepting space to explore issues and are guided to move toward growth and change. I incorporate mindfulness strategies into sessions, as well as techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to assist my clients in challenging previous ineffective ways of thinking. Issues I treat include trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, managing stress, relationship challenges, addictions, men’s issues, and concerns particular to cultural matters.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
