Getting to know Hasani Edwards
Mental health affects everyone and is a key component of an increased quality of life. Today's society faces many challenges in navigating mental health crises within themselves and their loved ones. It is a privilege to help individuals through these challenges. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Binghamton University, and my goal is to empower individuals through strength-based and solution-focused therapy.
What should a new client know about working with you?
My purpose is to create a safe environment that harnesses self expression and healing, so clients may navigate life with mental clarity. It is not enough to let life happen to us, we can attain our full potential. Our quality of life is greatly impacted by our mental health. Over the span of our lives we experience adverse experiences, trauma and crisis and develop all sorts of coping mechanisms to manage them, these can eventually stop working and/or cause us harm in ourselves and our loved ones. It is my privilege and commitment to provide psychotherapy as a means of supporting those who are seeking gentler ways to navigate these challenges and move out of crisis into a life of thriving and striving
What is your typical process for working with clients?
My work focuses on clients working towards feelings of empowerment through a trauma informed and strength based lens using a variety of modalities including solution focused therapy. I have over 10 years of providing therapeutic services to many different demographics and venues and bring that learning and expertise to my work.
