Getting to know Hava Khoury

I specialize in helping adults, families, and groups navigate the emotional toll of autoimmune disease and complex care systems. I also tend to work well with people who are new to therapy, creatives, athletes, and young adults. That said, I welcome all people in my practice. My curiosity with people knows no bounds. It has even gotten me into trouble at times. As a child, I earned the title of “people-watcher” in my family, always captivated by the lives of others. I found myself drawn to strangers, prompting my parents to caution me against staring too intently or getting lost in crowds. As an adult, I have fully embraced my fascination with the human condition. Thankfully, the practice of psychotherapy has enabled my passion for people to manifest in a purposeful way. I consider it the ultimate honor to meet all walks of life in my work. Thank you in advance for the privilege of knowing you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You’ve probably heard a lot of talk about what therapy is or isn’t. People come to therapy to achieve mastery over their problems and to heal themselves. But there is so much noise out there in the way of your healing. I take an active role in therapy. I consider it my job to strengthen the parts of you that desire healing and weaken the parts of you that resist healing. I tend to be very candid with my clients, care deeply about their lives, and become their advocate.
