Hayley Munroe, LPC

Psychotherapist
MO
I am an easy-going and laid-back therapist. My goal is to be flexible to help you meet your individual goals, and I adapt my practice to fit your needs. My approach I provide a holistic approach to care and am focused on the client. Everyone wears many hats in their lives, and they all impact one another. Good care comes from addressing every aspect of an individual and understanding how the separate parts come together in each person. My focus I have worked with a wide variety of individuals in my career. I tend to focus on adults or teens. I have specialties in substance abuse, trauma, adoption, incarceration, and common mental health concerns. I grew up in a diverse population and can work with individuals from different backgrounds as well. My communication style I am very flexible in sessions and will match the tone that you set or need. I try to be welcoming and authentic. I understand how difficult it can be to open up to someone who sounds like they are talking out of a textbook. While I will provide information and education, I will do so in a way that shows respect and understanding. My journey to mental healthcare I began in the mental health field working with severely mentally ill children as a case manager. I then worked as a school counselor and became a district-wide crisis worker. I moved into community practice and then became a therapist in a maximum security prison. My goals for you This is entirely up to the client! I will do what is needed to help reach your goals. If it is just checking in to vent to someone who had no connection to your daily life, or providing information and guidance for steps to reach your goals. My first session with you The first session will more than likely be a lot of questions and foundational work. It will be gathering a history, current symptoms/concerns, and goal setting.
