Getting to know Heather Burdine

Asking for help is never easy. It requires equal parts of courage, honesty, humility, and belief that change is possible. People have the power to heal themselves when provided with the right guidance and support. It is a privilege to be asked to witness and help facilitate change in another person. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from California State University, Long Beach, and over ten years of experience. I specialize in treating those with substance use, co-occurring disorders, and the mental health issues surrounding life's transitions, including depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and trauma. I use a strengths-based approach to foster a sense of curiosity and creativity, along with elements of CBT and DBT in working with clients. I practice an integrative holistic approach to therapy, incorporating elements of Humanistic, Cognitive, and Psychodynamic theories to individualize care for each of my clients.
