Getting to know Heather Chandler

Do you have difficulty with motivation to complete tasks? Do you often feel overwhelmed and don't know where to begin? Do you notice yourself being caught up in overthinking and/or irrational thoughts? Do you find yourself being self-critical and feeling like you are not enough? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you are in the right place and you no longer need to deal with these things alone. Hello! My name is Heather, and I have worked in mental health support for almost 20 years. I hold a Master's in Counseling and Development from Texas Woman's University and a Bachelor's degree from the University of North Texas. I believe that all of my clients have the capacity for growth and change. Together, we can identify what's not working and get you back to balance. We'll use a solution-focused approach while also addressing things such as mindfulness and self-care. We will also explore how your thoughts can have a powerful effect on your behavior and emotions and discover ways to create positive change in those patterns that might be holding you back. As your therapist, my best hope is that you recognize the power within yourself to make a change, even on the smallest scale. My goal is for you to feel heard, accepted, and to believe that I am there alongside you to find solutions to the challenges you are experiencing. In sessions with me, you will find relationship, empathy, authenticity, collaboration, and humor. It would be my honor to walk alongside you, your partner, or your child toward healing and change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I utilize a method called Solution Focused Therapy which really puts you in the driver's seat for your healing. I believe that every client possesses all the tools they need to be their very best selves, we just often forget to put on our tool belt. My goal as your therapist would be to help you unlock solutions and guide you towards your goals.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
