Heather DeJanovich, LCSW, is the co-founder of Roots of Regulation Counseling and serves as the clinical supervisor for our developing therapists. With more than 15 years of experience Heather brings extensive expertise in trauma, attachment, EMDR, polyvagal-informed therapy, and relational healing to both her clinical practice and her mentorship of new clinicians. Prior to co-founding Roots of Regulation, Heather spent seven years as a Clinical Director in private practice, supervising and supporting dozens of therapists as they developed into confident, compassionate clinicians. Her passion lies not only in helping clients heal but also in cultivating therapists who provide exceptional, relationship-centered care. Heather's supervision style is collaborative, nurturing, and grounded in curiosity. She believes that clinicians do their best work when they feel supported themselves, and she has built a model of supervision that emphasizes ongoing learning, reflection, and clinical excellence. Every therapist under her supervision benefits from regular consultation, guidance, and mentorship, ensuring clients receive thoughtful, evidence-based care informed by years of experience. As co-founder of Roots of Regulation Counseling, Heather helped create the practice's Trauma Fellowship Program, an immersive training experience designed to equip every new clinician with a strong foundation in trauma-informed, body-based, and attachment-focused therapy. Through this fellowship and continued supervision, therapists receive specialized education in nervous system regulation, relational healing, and evidence-based interventions while developing their own authentic therapeutic style.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Heather has advanced training in Polyvagal Theory, EMDR, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), and she continues to pursue ongoing education in trauma, attachment, and somatic approaches. Her commitment to lifelong learning shapes not only her own work but the culture of growth and excellence throughout the practice.
