Hi there, I'm Heather! I am a licensed professional counselor with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mid-America Christian University. I am certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, CAMS Care Suicide Prevention, and trained in Polyvagal theory/technique for clients on the Autism Spectrum. I have experience helping clients with stress, anxiety, trauma and abuse, motivation, self-esteem and confidence, and depression. I have worked with clients of all ages in inpatient and outpatient settings, in community mental health and private practice. I believe you are the expert of your story and possess many strengths to overcome challenges. I always say, "It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and take a step toward change," and I am here to support you on that journey. I love spending time with my husband, two young children, our pets, going to the lake, reading, shopping, cooking, and traveling. My approach I am a person-centered counselor using CBT, Solution Focused, Relational, and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy. My focus Adolescent and adult individuals. My communication style I help clients realize their goals and give them the confidence and tools to achieve them. I support and encourage clients to change their outlook and challenge themselves. You will be met with support, unconditional positive regard, and our sessions are a safe space, no matter what. My journey to mental healthcare I have always wanted to work in a helping profession. Experiences with family members affected by addiction and mental health issues have led me here. My goals for you Clients are in the driver’s seat.
