Getting to know Heather Elder

Do you feel like you have a million moving pieces in your life and you are just trying to figure out how to manage it all and continue to function? Are you finding that the demands of life have been taking a toll on your relationships and more importantly, yourself? Sometimes it can feel like life has just become too much, and having some additional support can help you see through all that is weighing you down. I take an individualized approach to counseling, meeting each person where they are with their needs and their strengths to help navigate through those feelings of being overwhelmed to build confidence in yourself and recognize the strength within. I provide a safe space for conversation and exploration, with gentle guidance in helping you determine what has been making you feel stuck, while together we uncover a path where that burden is reduced and you feel like you can breathe again. I have extensive experience working individually with clients in managing anxiety, depression, and relationship concerns, as well as with parents and caregivers who are trying to navigate circumstances with children coping with medical, behavioral, and emotional needs. Sometimes life can feel like too much, and you do not have to navigate it alone. I am flexible with scheduling with my clients, so please reach out and schedule to see if we can find something that works for you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

If you find yourself at a point in your life where you are struggling and would benefit from some support, I would be willing to listen and help guide you towards reframing challenges so they appear easier to approach and move forward with a sense of understanding, seeing the potential that you already hold within. I use an individualized approach in counseling tailored to meet the needs that are expressed during sessions, with the understanding that we are forever changing, and so are those needs. I believe that each person and family has their own strengths even in the face of adversity, and leaning into those strengths can help promote growth and healing.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
