Hi there, I'm Heather! If you're looking to understand yourself—where you’ve been, what’s shaped you, how you cope, and what makes you strong—then you've come to the right place. I am here to help you make real, meaningful change, the kind that lasts because it’s built on gaining insight, developing tools, and creating the life you want for yourself. My approach In therapy, I will collaborate with you to identify the changes you would like to make and make a plan to achieve those changes. I use insight-oriented and evidence-based approaches, including CBT, solution-focused, and psychodynamic therapies to help you grow, change, and build the life that you want. My focus Are you feeling stressed? Do you struggle with depression or anxiety? I will support you in understanding what is behind these difficult feelings--where they began and how they have impacted your life. Together, we will gain and learn how your past is impacting your present. I will help you develop the skills necessary to manage uncomfortable feelings and find a more satisfying way of being in the world. My communication style I value straightforward but empathetic communication to support you to feel both safe and challenged. Sometimes, people share parts of their lives that are hard to talk about. You will find me to be a calm and centered person to help you grow and change. My journey to mental healthcare I have had the good fortune to work with several amazing therapists in my life, and I always knew I wanted to help others the same way that my therapists helped me. I value being a listening ear and someone who supports others in their change process. When I was in graduate school to become a therapist, I felt I had found my tribe--other people in the helping profession. Once I got started on this journey, I never looked back. I love my work, and I am so privileged to get to do this as a profession.
