Hi, my name is Heather Gorden, and I am a Licensed Associate Mental Health Counselor, License #MC61361403. I feel honored you have chosen to work with me as your therapist! I believe in respect, integrity, collaboration, and kindness. This is your journey, and I am here to listen, guide, and encourage you along the way. I work primarily with adults and provide individual therapy for a variety of needs, including depression, anxiety, grief and loss, anger management, and co-occurring disorders. I utilize a variety of evidence-based practices—psychodynamic, person-centered, mindfulness, strengths-based, existential, humanistic, solution-focused, and cognitive-behavioral. My style is eclectic and can be adjusted to best fit your needs. I am here to listen and provide you with a safe environment in which to navigate whatever it is you are seeking help with. The most important piece to remember is this is time for you to invest in YOU! Seeking help can be difficult—I get it! I have been through multiple losses, experienced trauma, and have learned to cope with my anxiety, all with the help of therapy. Seeking help is a great step toward change, which we all know can be difficult, but the outcome of taking that step is so worth it! After taking steps to make changes in my own life, I have felt freer and a sense of relief. My own experiences have encouraged me to help others even more. No matter what you are going through or what emotions you are feeling, please reach out and take that first step toward change. Even if you think no one wants to listen, that’s when you need to reach out! I received my Master’s in Social Work from Walla Walla University and my undergraduate degree from Central Washington University. I have been working in the mental health and substance use fields since 2014 in several settings. My experience includes crisis work, emergency social work, and inpatient therapy, which included family and group counseling and safety planning.
